Self-build housing
Self-build housing is defined as an individual who commissions (whether acting alone or with other individuals) or is personally involved in the design and construction of a dwelling that is intended to be the individual's main residence once it is built.
There are many types of self-build and custom-build. Further information on self-build is available on external websites below:
Self-build register
We (as a planning authority) are required to prepare, maintain and publish a list of persons who have registered an interest with us, the intention of acquiring land in the Falkirk Council area for self-build housing.
This self-build register will help us understand the demand for self-build plots in the area and to develop policies and guidance where necessary to support self-build.
