You helped shape it - now check the draft Bo’ness Masterplan reflects your priorities
Hundreds of people who live and work in Bo’ness shared their views over the summer to help create a draft town centre masterplan. Now, Falkirk Council is asking locals to check that the plan reflects their priorities before it goes back to councillors early next year.
What’s in the draft plan
The masterplan sets out how the town centre could evolve over the next 20 years, building on Bo’ness’ heritage, its connection to the Forth, and its strong sense of community.
Ideas include:
- making more use of the foreshore and harbour, including exploring how the area could form part of a future East Central Scotland Coastal Park
- developing the bus station and Market Square as welcoming gateways and flexible spaces for markets and community events
- creating stronger links between the waterfront and the town centre
- improving walking, cycling and public transport connections to and from the town
The plan also highlights opportunities to support local businesses and tourism, strengthen links with attractions like the Hippodrome, Kinneil Estate, and the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway, and invest in key community assets such as the town hall and library.
Share your views in person
Local people can view the draft masterplan and speak with members of the project team at two community drop-in events on:
| Date | Time | Location |
| Monday 24 November 2025 | From 1pm to 5pm | Bo’ness Library, Scotland's Close, EH51 0AH |
| Tuesday 25 November 2025 | From 1pm to 5pm | Bo’ness Library, Scotland's Close, EH51 0AH |
At the events residents and businesses can share their feedback on the draft plan and discuss priorities for action, including ideas for how the Council’s £500,000 Regeneration Fund for Bo’ness could be invested.

Views can also be provided by completing the online survey on Participate+. The survey is open until 14 January 2025 and gives everyone a chance to have their say.
Feedback gathered through this stage will be used to refine the masterplan before it is finalised and presented to councillors for consideration in spring 2026.
Cllr Paul Garner, spokesperson for Economic Development:
Bo’ness has a rich history, a beautiful coastal setting and a strong community. The masterplan builds on those strengths to set a clear vision for the future. We now want local people to check that the plan reflects their priorities to ensure the final version meets the needs of the community.
