Every plan starts with a conversation - and this Easter, that conversation is coming to Bowhouse and Kersiebank, as work begins on a Community Action Plan (CAP) for the area.

Two community events are taking place during the school holidays, and everyone who lives in the neighbourhoods are welcome to come along to find out what a CAP means for their area and how they can be part of it.

What is a Community Action Plan?

A Community Action Plan is developed with local people, for local people. It sets out a clear vision for the community and a set of actions to address what matters most to resident, delivered through partnership working between local people, community groups, Falkirk Council and other agencies.

At the April events, residents will see the CAP boundary map, hear what the process involves and its timeline, and find out more about the different ways they can get involved. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions about current and previous work in the area.

The community engagement phase, where residents will be asked to share their views and priorities in depth, will follow in the next stage of the process.

The Bowhouse and Kersiebank Community Action Plan will build on the existing Grangemouth Community Action Plan, bringing a more focused, place-based approach to the specific priorities and needs of these two neighbourhoods.

Kenneth Lawrie, Chief Executive, Falkirk Council, said:

There are a lot of local groups and individuals working hard in Bowhouse and Kersiebank every day - transforming green spaces, supporting their community and making a real difference to the lives of people who live in these neighbourhoods.

“This Community Action Plan should have that same energy at its heart. We hope as many residents as possible will come along this Easter to find out what the plan could mean for their neighbourhood and how they can get involved in what comes next.
