New lighting to transform key routes into Falkirk town centre
Three key routes into Falkirk town centre are set for a colourful transformation with the installation of new feature lighting as part of ongoing regeneration works.
The £88k project, supported through the Scottish Government's Place Based Investment Programme, will see new lighting installed in Kings Court, Wilson's Close and Baxters Wynd. The new system will provide attractive everyday lighting while also allowing colour changes for special events and occasions.
Works will get underway week beginning 7 September and are expected to take around two to three weeks to complete. Access to businesses and properties will be maintained throughout the installation, with measures in place to minimise disruption to pedestrians.
The work builds on recent upgrades across Falkirk town centre, including improvements to ironwork, cleaning and refurbishment works, enhanced CCTV, new seating and other public realm investment aimed at making the area more pleasant for visitors and residents.
The scheme also supports a fresh approach to amenity lighting, helping public spaces feel safer, more welcoming and better used in the evening.
Kings Court has already benefited from repainting, cleaning and upgrades to ironwork, with the lighting providing the latest enhancement and strengthening the appearance of an important route to and from the High Street.
Once completed, the installations will create distinctive gateways into the town centre while complementing the character of the surrounding area.
