Summer grants still available for sports clubs across Falkirk
Sports clubs and community groups across the Falkirk area have until 30 June to apply for small grants to help more children and young people try new activities this summer.
The Summer of Sport Micro Grant Fund offers grants of up to £500 to support free or low-cost sport and physical activity for young people aged 3 to 26.
A total of £7,500 is available through the fund as part of Falkirk’s wider Summer of Sport programme, with activity supported between June and August 2026.
Applications are open to local sports clubs, community sport organisations, charities and constituted voluntary groups delivering sport in the Falkirk Council area.
Micro grants can help cover practical costs including equipment, venue hire, coaching, transport, volunteer training and volunteer expenses.
Funding can also support free or subsidised summer activity such as sessions, camps, festivals, taster activities and targeted work with young people who may face barriers to taking part.
The fund aims to make it easier for young people to get involved in sport close to where they live, while helping clubs and organisations reach new members, build local links and support young people to continue into regular club or community sport after the summer.
Applicants should show how their activity will increase opportunities for young people, build on existing local provision or respond to gaps in their area. Groups must also have appropriate governance, safeguarding and child protection arrangements in place.
Councillor Paul Garner, Depute Leader of Falkirk Council, said:
Local clubs are at the heart of sport in our communities. They give children and young people the chance to take part, learn new skills, meet other people and build confidence.
“These small grants are a practical way to help clubs open up more opportunities over the summer, especially where cost, transport or lack of equipment might stop young people getting involved.
“We want this funding to support summer activity but also help clubs make lasting connections with families and young people across Falkirk.
