Temporary closure of Camelon Cemetery and Crematorium

Camelon Cemetery and Crematorium will be closed to the public on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 April 2025 while essential gas network improvement works are carried out by Scottish Gas Networks (SGN).
The temporary closure is required to ensure the safety of visitors and staff, as SGN upgrades the gas infrastructure in the Dorrator Road area.
The work involves replacing old metal gas mains with new plastic pipes, aimed at maintaining a safe and reliable gas supply in the long term.
While the site will be closed to vehicles and public access, limited pedestrian access will be available from the Stirling Road entrance.
Douglas Gardiner, Head of Environment & Operations said:
We recognise that temporary access restrictions may cause some inconvenience, and we’re working closely with SGN to minimise disruption.
"Public safety is our priority, and we appreciate the community’s understanding while these necessary works are carried out.
The closure will begin at 12 noon on Saturday 26 April and is expected to remain in place until the morning of Monday 28 April.
