From August 2026, more pupils will be based at the Maddiston campus while refurbishment work continues. Families will continue to receive information about transport and learning arrangements as plans are finalised.
Class locations from August 2026
P1 to P4 will be based at Maddiston Primary School campus. (No change for P2 to P4.) P5 and P6 will continue to attend Wallacestone Primary School. P7 will move from Bantaskin Primary School to Braes High School. Timezone classes will remain at Moray Primary School and Carrongrange High School. Learning environment
Additional modular classrooms will be installed at Maddiston and Braes to provide extra space. These classrooms will include facilities such as toilets and breakout areas.
P7 pupils based at Braes High School will benefit from an enhanced transition programme and access to facilities and learning opportunities that are not usually available in primary school.
Building works
The school refurbishment is a major project with an investment of around £14 million. The work includes:
- replacing the roof and external walls
- carrying out structural repairs
- upgrading electrical and mechanical systems
- improving fire safety measures
- refurbishing internal learning and social spaces.
Construction work began in January 2026. While early work may not be visible, larger-scale construction activity is expected from spring onwards.
Reopening date
At the time of this update, all building work was expected to be completed by August 2027.
