The Carron Dams was once a reservoir that powered the blast furnaces of the nearby Carron ironworks. Now partially drained, the reservoir has become colonised by rich fen communities and scrub woodland. This is surrounded by mature deciduous woodland giving local residents a wonderful natural space to enjoy.
