Adaptations - How do I get help?

To get assistance, please call Social Work Services on 01324 506070 and ask for a Needs Assessment. This assessment will help identify your needs and how urgently you require assistance.

If Social Work Services decide that adaptation work is essential, you will be referred to the Private Sector Team who can help you apply for a Mandatory Adaptation Grant, process your application and support you to get the work done.

Maintenance and Repairs – How do I get help?

You may be able to get help in the following ways:

• Online information on our private sector pages
• The Private Sector Team can provide general advice and signposting, where necessary (our contact details are listed below)
• Finding a Contractor (see our Buy with Confidence scheme)
• Small Repair & Handyperson Service
• Care and Repair Service
• Help with communal repairs
• Properties below the tolerable standard
• Discretionary Grants (for a limited range of works, resources permitting - see our Scheme of Assistance above)
• Help to bring Empty Homes back into use.
