Our Employee Survey 2025 is now live! Running until Friday 21 November 2025, the survey gives you the chance to tell us what it’s like to work for the Council.

It’s anonymous. No need to log in to Participate+. No name or email required.

The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete. By taking that time out of your day, you’ll not only give us valuable insight into how our employees feel but also help raise vital funds for a fantastic cause – The Provost’s Christmas Appeal.

In previous years, thousands of pounds have been raised by donating £1 to charity for every survey submitted. We’re hoping to do the same this year, with every penny helping vulnerable local families have a Christmas to remember.

Why fill in the survey?

How you’re supported and treated at work as well as the opportunities you’re given affects how you feel about your job, your workplace and your wellbeing.

That’s why it’s important that we hear from you. By sharing your views, you’ll help us identify the areas in which we are doing well and where we need to do more work to ensure our workplace is as inclusive and supportive as it can be.

It will also help raise money for this year’s Provost’s Appeal. Every year the Appeal provides financial support to local families who would otherwise struggle to put food on the table and presents under the tree at Christmas time.

Themes

This year’s questions are based around key themes identified in the 2023 survey:

  • Trust and value
  • Support and leadership
  • Teamwork and communication
  • Wellbeing and resources

By asking about these areas again, we’ll be able to see if things have improved, stayed the same, or need more attention. We’ll then run the survey again in 2026 to track progress.

Kenneth Lawrie, Chief Executive, said:

I would encourage every employee to fill in the survey and be open and honest in your responses. By adding your voice, you’ll help us understand what’s working well and where we need to improve. The more people who respond, the better informed we’ll be - and the more able we are to make changes that matter. You’ll also be supporting a vital cause, with each survey completed helping to give support local families who might otherwise find Christmas a struggle.
