As a reminder, employees who need to travel between locations should actively consider alternative and more efficient ways of carrying out Council business in line with the Council’s Travel Hierarchy in the Driving at Work Policy.

Any employee claiming mileage must have tried to book a pool car prior to making a claim, unless: 

• it is impractical (emergency or out of hours)
• it is inefficient to do so
• there are approved health grounds for not using a pool car

All mileage incurred should be claimed via MyView and approved by the relevant line manager. Where a pool car is unavailable, the booking reference received though the pool car booking system should be entered in the mileage claim form.
