For many, Christmas means family, food and gifts under the tree. But for some local families, it can bring a lot of worry and stress. The extra cost of a festive meal and presents for the family can weigh heavy.
That’s why The Provost’s Christmas Appeal exists. Every year, the Appeal raises funds to provide gift cards for families who need a little extra help.
The cards are distributed discreetly through our Social Work teams, ensuring children across the area wake up to a gift under the Christmas tree and a full tummy at teatime.
Last year, thanks to your generosity, the Appeal raised just over £1200, supporting families who might otherwise have struggled to make ends meet.
Behind every pound was an act of kindness that made a very real difference.
One mum told us:
After losing my children’s father, it was great that they still had an amazing Christmas. It was so nice to know that other people cared and were willing to help.
And this year, you can make a difference simply by filling in the employee survey. For every survey completed, £1 will go straight to The Provost’s Christmas Appeal.
It takes less than 10 minutes to complete, but the impact lasts much longer. Your voice will not only help us build a better Council but also give local families some extra support this Christmas.
