When advertising a temporary post, consider whether you might consider applicants on a secondment basis and if so this should be clear in the advert. The Recruitment & Selection Policy must be followed throughout the whole process, including pre-employment checks where applicable.

Where an employee from another organisation is being seconded into a post within the Council, you should contact Human Resources to seek advice prior to the commencement of the secondment.
Applying for a secondment
Secondments are at the discretion of the applicant's existing manager. It is the applicant’s responsibility to agree with their substantive employer on how they will return to their original post or equivalent at the end of the secondment.
Terms and Conditions during the secondment
Any external individual who is seconded into Falkirk Council will normally be employed on Falkirk Council's terms and conditions of employment.
