Colleagues from Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Councils met recently for the second Joint Staff Forum to discuss how the collaboration programme is going.

It was the first time Stirling Council reps joined the forum, which includes all our recognised Trade Unions and management, giving everyone a chance to share perspectives, ask questions and agree how we will continue working together as the programme develops.

The main message from the session was that people are very keen to see much more detail on the different workstreams.

There’s also a strong appetite for teams working on the programme to be directly involved in shaping and presenting any ideas and proposals. That’s something that has already been agreed by the programme board.

Regular updates are important too, even if there’s not much new to say. There’s also an ask to involve frontline staff as early as possible.

There will be an update report on the programme to all three Councils at their respective meetings on June 25.

Kenneth Lawrie, Chief Executive, said:

The Joint Staff Forum continues to be a valuable opportunity to hear directly from Trade Union representatives and discuss how the programme is developing across all three councils.

“One of the clear messages from this meeting was that colleagues want more detail about the different projects and opportunities to contribute as plans are developed.

“We welcome that feedback and will be creating further opportunities for staff and Trade Unions to engage with the work over the coming months.

“The knowledge and experience of our employees will be vital in helping us assess future options, and we remain committed to keeping colleagues informed and involved as the programme progresses.
