The results of the Employee Survey 2025 are now available to view

Last year, colleagues across the Council and the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) were asked to share their views on day-to-day working life. In total, 2,793 people took part, representing almost a third of the workforce.

That participation also raised £2,793 for the Provost’s Christmas Appeal, with £1 donated for every completed survey.

The results of the survey are now published on the Employee Website at both council-wide and service level, giving you the opportunity to view the data and see the overall picture.

Chief Executive Kenneth Lawrie said:

The responses give us a clearer view of how work feels day to day - in your roles, teams and across the organisation. We spend a significant amount of our lives at work, so it’s only right that we ask you for your views and take time to listen to what you tell us, so we can build on our strengths and make improvements.

What happens next

Publishing the results is the first step; creating action plans is the next.

Services will now develop tailored action plans, setting out practical steps to address the main issues raised and how work is organised, communicated and supported within their teams. These plans are expected to be published in early spring 2026.

At team level, managers will use the results to support discussion within teams. This work will sit alongside wider organisational improvement activity, with updates shared as work progresses.

Kenneth added:

What matters now is what happens next. Services will use their results to agree priorities and actions, and being open about those plans is an important part of taking this forward. It supports transparency and our commitment to delivering those actions and making improvements where we can. Future surveys will help us see what’s changed and where more attention is needed.
