Flu Vaccinations

This year the NHS has expanded flu vaccination eligibility to include those working in front-facing Health & Social Care roles and employees working in pupil-facing roles in schools and early learning centres.

You can see if you're eligible for, and how to access, a flu vaccination under the NHS programme on the NHS Forth Valley webpage.

Flu symptoms can be similar to those of COVID-19. Getting vaccinated won't just protect you and your family from potentially being laid up with the flu, it could help ease the burden on NHS Scotland’s Test & Protect system. It might also help you avoid having to self-isolate unnecessarily.

For employees who are not eligible for the flu vaccination under the expanded NHS criteria, Falkirk Council will reimburse the cost of receiving a flu vaccination.

If you aren’t eligible for a free vaccination under the NHS programme, you will be able to claim this back as expenses through MyView. If you do not have access to MyView, you can submit an expenses claims form to your manager directly. Any claim should be supported by a relevant receipt.

COVID-19 Boosters

COVID-19 boosters are currently being made available to eligible individuals across Scotland 6 months after receiving their second dose.

Booster appointments can be booked online through the national portal. Falkirk Council strongly encourages all employees to receive their booster when eligible. Employees will be offered the same support to receive their booster as they were for their first and second vaccinations.

Employees who have yet to receive a first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination are encouraged do so at a drop in facility or register for an appointment.
