Drivers using the A904 are advised that overnight road closures are planned to allow structural work at Midthorn Bridge, next to Evans Halshaw.

The A904 between Westfield Roundabout and Laurieston Road will close from 8pm to 6am, Monday 9 March up to Friday 13 March.

Access will remain to Westmains Industrial Estate and Laurieston Road throughout the nights. The road will be fully open during the daytime.

Diversion routes:

  • Eastbound traffic: A9 Laurieston Link Road – Cadgers Brae Roundabout – Beancross Road – Earlsgate Roundabout
  • Westbound traffic: Beancross Road – Cadgers Brae Roundabout – A9 Laurieston Link Road – A904 (Grangemouth Road)

The overnight closures allow sheet piling to be driven into the ground to support the existing road while deep excavation work is carried out next to the bridge.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for journeys.

A9/A904 Improvement Project

The work is part of the A9/A904 Improvement Project, which is one of the largest infrastructure schemes being delivered through Falkirk Council’s TIF programme. It includes new carriageway layouts, roundabouts – including the Gateway roundabout above - and upgraded routes for pedestrians and cyclists.

Once complete, the project will support safer travel, improve traffic flow and unlock development opportunities around the Helix, Falkirk Stadium and Forth Valley College
