An overnight road closure will be in place on Thursday 18 December 2025 to allow essential surface repairs to be carried out on the A904.

The road will be closed from Forth Valley College to Earls Gate Roundabout from 8pm on Thursday 18 December to 6am on Friday 19 December.

Westfield Roundabout will remain open to drivers using the A9.

Signed diversion routes will be in place. Drivers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey.

Paul Kettrick, Falkirk Council’s Head of Investment, Assets and Climate:

We know overnight closures are inconvenient and we’re sorry for the disruption this will cause. Carrying out this work at night not only allows the repairs to be completed safely but also limits the impact on traffic during the day.

About the A9/A904 Improvement Project

The A9/A904 Improvement Project is the largest infrastructure scheme ever delivered under Falkirk Council’s Tax Incremental Finance (TIF) programme.

Funding for the project comes entirely from TIF and the UK Government’s Levelling Up Funding with no Council funding required.

The project will create new dual carriageways, roundabouts and safer routes for pedestrians and cyclists. Once finished, it will ease congestion, improve traffic flow, and unlock land for the Falkirk Gateway development, providing new homes, leisure, retail and business opportunities near the Helix, Falkirk Stadium and Forth Valley College.
