Overnight closure and turning restrictions on A904 (Falkirk Road)
Drivers are being advised of an overnight closure and new turning restrictions on the A904 (Falkirk Road) which will enable Balfour Beatty to construct a new roundabout.
The new roundabout will sit at the junction of A904/Laurieston Road/West Mains Road and is part of the A9/A904 Improvement Project.
Overnight closure
The A904 between Earlsgate roundabout and Westfield roundabout will close from 8pm on Saturday 11 October until 6am on Sunday 12 October 2025. Signed diversions will be in place.
The overnight closure allows the safe installation of new traffic management on the A904 between Midthorn Bridge and Earlsgate roundabout.
No right turn
Once traffic management is installed, drivers will no longer be able to turn right onto the A904 (Falkirk Road) from:
- Laurieston Road
- West Mains Road
- Grangemouth Enterprise Centre/Arnold Clark access
These junctions will remain open, but only on a left-in/left-out basis, with the restrictions in place for up to 12 months.
What this means for drivers
Drivers leaving Laurieston Road or from Grangemouth Enterprise Centre/Arnold Clark who want to head towards Grangemouth and the M9 will now need to turn left onto the A904, travel to Westfield Roundabout and return along the A904 towards Earlsgate roundabout.
Drivers leaving West Mains Road who want to head towards Falkirk will need to turn left onto the A904, continue to Earlsgate roundabout and return along the A904 towards Westfield roundabout.
